Since our first inspection in 2004 our care services have been rated "Excellent" 3 Star with the Care Quality Commission, we deliver personalised support services that promote independence and work in complete partnership with our service users and their families.

We believe our focus to positively support the lives of those who use our care services is further enhanced as Athena Care warmly welcomes the appointment of Mark Allen in the role of Service Development Advisor. As a wheelchair dependent user of care services for over 35 yrs Mark will oversee both new and existing service development.

Our large team of specialist trained social care workers and personal assistants are based throughout the UK successfully providing outcomes based personalised care services to individuals in their own homes.We also support individuals attending College or University with dual note taking/personal care support and have an established holiday assistance service should you require support to travel both within and outside the UK.

We always work in complete partnership with our service users, listening and developing our care services in a personalised and supporting manner. We provide support to individuals who may experience many conditions including complex neurological conditions,acquired brain injury and spinal injury and we can also assist with delegated level 3 health care tasks such as PEG feed,catheter care and bowel management.

All social/health care workers are checked at an 'Enhanced' level with the CRB and Independent Safeguarding Authority for your safety and peace of mind.

All social/ health care workers receive & comply with:


• Face to face interview.


• Minimum of 2 written references which are telphoned checked.


• Skills Audit.


• General Social Care Councils 'Code of Conduct'.


• Registration with the Independent Safeguarding Authority (expected during Autumn 2010)


• Terms of employment where applicable to the service.


• Terms of self-employment including self employed status where applicable to the service. (Introduction service only)


• Copies of driving licence, MOT,insurance.


• Data protection.


• Working Time Directive declaration


• Asylum & immigration (entitlement to live & work in the UK).


• Fitness declaration.


• Original training & development certificates.


• CRB Enhanced Disclosure & ISA Check/PoVA/PoCA checks obtained (both adults & children).

• Level 3 delegated health care tasks such as bowel care, catheter care and PEG management.
